About the role
- Assists the Chief Legal Counsel in responding to requests.
- Organizes inquiries involving litigation and writes responses.
- Maintains docketing systems, databases, and other electronic files consisting of litigation materials, subpoenas, orders, and settlement agreements.
- Conducts confidential studies and research relating to legal issues.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Requirements
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with coursework in such areas as legal, pre-legal, English, statistics or directly related coursework.
- Prefers at least four (4) years of professional experience as a paralegal or legal assistant.
- Prefers at least four (4) years of experience in maintaining legal files in an electronic docketing system.
- Prefers at least four (4) years of experience in responding to discovery requests.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience in conducting legal research for a managing attorney.
- Prefers at least four (4) years of professional experience in drafting memorandums, correspondence, and other written materials.
- Prefers at least four (4) years of experience in maintaining and updating electronic databases.
- Prefers at least four (4) years of experience in operating Microsoft Office programs.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience in conducting legal research.
