Serves as an Expenditure and Payroll Advanced Processor for the Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Finance, Bureau of Fiscal Operations by independently reviewing and approving complex accounting activities/payments involving the Department’s expenditure accounts
Examines the Department’s administrative and payroll records, and budgetary allocations to forecast expenditure trends for budgetary purposes
Reviews Department budgetary control accounts for Payroll expenditures
Examines, interprets, and distributes telecom accounting statements and reports for Department Units
Analyzes and evaluates the State Accounting Management System (SAMS) and Department accounting rules and regulations regarding the appropriation, obligation, and expenditure activities
Designs, develops, modifies, and provides training for the Department’s accounting system
Performs other duties as required or assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Requirements
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college, with courses in business administration and accounting
Requires two (2) years of professional experience in accounting, external auditing, budgetary planning and control, or public accounting
Requires the ability to pass a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history
Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop
