About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare and lead the monthly and annual consolidated financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and on-time delivery across all entities.
  • Perform monthly and annual financial close functions, including journal entry preparation, account analysis, and variance review.
  • Develop a complete understanding of contract management and the underlying software systems required to support accurate revenue and cost recognition.
  • Work closely with the FP&A team to review monthly financial results and investigate variances, helping resolve issues so the numbers are accurate and clearly understood.
  • Assist in the annual budget cycle, partnering with Finance leadership to build and validate departmental and consolidated budgets.
  • Perform all reconciliations of general ledger, bank, and intercompany accounts, resolving discrepancies quickly and thoroughly.
  • Own the accuracy of general ledger accounting, including the integrity of data inputs and system integrations.
  • Produce ad-hoc reports and maintain detailed, audit-ready support for financial and management reporting needs.
  • Manage year-end financial statement audits, serving as a key point of contact for external auditors and coordinating documentation and responses.
  • Ensure internal accounting policies, procedures, and financial controls are in place and consistently followed company-wide.
  • Support compliance with US and Canadian statutory, tax, and reporting requirements, coordinating with external advisors as needed.
  • Collaborate with Finance, People Ops, and Operations stakeholders to resolve issues and support company-wide initiatives.
  • Assist the Director of Finance in integrating acquired entities into JobGet's financial systems, controls, and reporting cadence.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase the speed, accuracy, and scalability of the accounting close cycle.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including direct ownership of the monthly and annual close process.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP; working knowledge of Canadian ASPE/IFRS reporting requirements is a strong asset.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Hands-on experience managing general ledger, bank, and intercompany reconciliations at scale.
  • Experience leading or heavily supporting year-end financial statement audits with external auditors.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian statutory and tax compliance requirements; US multi-entity exposure is a plus.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, or other significant business change is a strong asset.
  • Enthusiasm and curiosity for using AI and automation tools to work smarter.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they become problems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and operate with urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
