About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage end-to-end contractual actions across the Global Awards portfolio, including awards, subawards, modifications, vendors, consultants, and compliance
- Liaise with donors, federal agencies, Johns Hopkins University, Jhpiego departments, and partners/subrecipients on contractual issues, negotiations, approvals, and payments
- Provide guidance on USG and donor rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Develop, negotiate, review, and analyze contractual documents and agreements
- Facilitate prior approvals, waivers, extensions, and other contractual actions
- Communicate requirements, timing, status, and results to global project teams and stakeholders
- Ensure contractual compliance and review financial and programmatic reports for donor submission
- Prepare for and participate in audits
- Track award and subaward funds and review subaward invoices
- Provide capacity building, guidance, and training to subcontractors, grantees, vendors, and staff
- Support proposal, award set-up, post-award, procurement, and contractual database processes
- Contribute to SOPs, manuals, guides, templates, and continuous process improvement
- Collaborate with Procurement, JHU, Program Finance, and other stakeholders to resolve issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Business, International Development, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3–4 years in contracts or finance with a multi-office and multinational international development organization
- Demonstrated experience managing USAID-funded projects
- Strong knowledge of post-award processes
- Strong understanding and interpretation of OMB, CFR, and FAR regulations
- Strong understanding of cooperative agreements, grants, and contracts
- Ability to work with professionals at all organizational levels
- Expert-level planning, organizing, and managing multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently and exercise judgment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex team environment with multiple projects, short and competing deadlines, and pressure to perform
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
- Proficiency in MS Office 365
- Preferred: 5 or more years in a related contracts or finance field
- Preferred: SAP, JAWS, and SWiFT knowledge
- Successful candidates subject to a pre-employment background check
- Must comply with Johns Hopkins seasonal flu vaccine requirement, subject to stated exceptions
