About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare correspondence and legal documents
- Handle a high volume of phone calls
- Draft written responses and reply by phone or email to requests for information
- Electronically file and serve court documents in State and Federal courts
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and arrange travel
- Maintain client/case files within the firm's document management system
- Draft and proofread general correspondence and pleadings
- Create charts and graphs
- Prepare trial binders and presentations
- Collaborate with attorneys and Finance to review and process vendor payments and attorney expense reports
- Assist peers and other administrative teams with overflow work and miscellaneous tasks as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years' experience in civil litigation in California state, federal, and appellate court
- Experience with filing in state, federal, and appellate court
- Keen attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and computer skills
- High degree of professionalism
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a dynamic, high-paced litigation team
- Experience supporting an IP practice is a plus
- Paralegal certificate from ABA approved program is a plus
