About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead development and execution of integrated consumer marketing strategies for Xywav across narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia
- Build and optimize the full patient experience from disease awareness and demand generation through treatment initiation, engagement, and loyalty
- Develop consumer strategic brand plans, annual tactical plans, positioning, messaging architecture, claims documents, and patient-facing communication strategies
- Partner with HCP Marketing, Commercial Strategy, and cross-functional stakeholders on integrated brand planning and execution
- Lead consumer competitive intelligence and strategic planning processes
- Own end-to-end consumer and patient journey strategy
- Develop disease awareness and branded consumer engagement programs
- Partner with Patient Services to integrate marketing initiatives with patient support programs
- Lead patient advocacy strategy and relationships with advocacy organizations
- Oversee advocacy events, patient education programs, and patient ambassador initiatives
- Direct testimonial content, website integration, video development, and social media activation
- Lead consumer creative campaigns and campaign refreshes across digital and print channels
- Oversee patient education materials, starter kits, onboarding resources, welcome kits, and patient support communications
- Lead consumer market research, tracking studies, patient insights programs, audience understanding, measurement, social listening, and market intelligence
- Oversee consumer marketing budgets, financial planning, investment prioritization, and resource allocation
- Manage the consumer agency of record and key consumer agencies and partners
- Oversee agency statements of work and approval
- Collaborate with HCP Marketing, Patient Services, Analytics & Insights, Customer Experience, Finance, Medical, Patient Advocacy, Sales, and Market Access
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required
- MBA preferred
- 7+ years of pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing experience with significant consumer/direct-to-patient marketing responsibilities
- 10+ years of commercial, marketing, sales, product management, or related pharmaceutical experience
- Experience in rare disease and sleep medicine preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead and/or work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Ability to navigate change and move work and team members forward
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including communication with leadership teams
- Ability to shift between strategy, planning, and execution with agility and attention to detail
- Analytical, problem-solving, planning, project management, and organizational skills
- Recent experience working with a customer experience team and/or centralized marketing center of excellence supporting brand marketing teams
- Pharmaceutical career progression demonstrating growth in responsibility and scope, particularly in commercial positions
- Approximately 20–30% domestic travel
- Frequent use of computers, communication devices, and standard office equipment
- Ability to work occasionally outside standard business hours to meet business needs
