About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage, optimize, and maintain enterprise Oracle database environments
- Support high availability, reliability, and scalability of production systems
- Administer and operate a fleet of production databases
- Perform database performance tuning and execution plan analysis
- Implement backup, restore, recovery, point-in-time recovery, and database duplication strategies
- Manage Oracle multitenant CDB and PDB creation, cloning, plug/unplug operations, and resource management
- Execute large-scale Data Pump exports and imports, including cross-platform and cross-version migrations
- Administer Oracle Linux or Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, including storage, kernel parameters, systemd, ASM, and filesystem configuration
- Perform character set migrations, including conversion to AL32UTF8
- Develop shell-script automation for database operations
- Support large database migrations, ideally cross-platform
- Configure and test Active Data Guard failover, where applicable
- Monitor database fleets using Oracle Enterprise Manager or EM Express, where applicable
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years as an Oracle database administrator or database engineer supporting production systems
- 3+ years specifically with Oracle 19c Enterprise Edition, including multitenant
- Ownership of at least one large database migration, ideally cross-platform
- Experience operating a fleet of databases rather than a single flagship instance
- Production experience with Oracle Database Enterprise Edition 19c as a primary responsibility
- Experience with multitenant architecture, including CDB/PDB creation, cloning, plug/unplug operations, and resource management
- RMAN experience covering backup strategy, restore and recovery, point-in-time recovery, and database duplication
- Large-scale Data Pump export/import, including cross-platform and cross-version moves
- Oracle Linux or Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration, including storage layout, kernel parameters, systemd, and ASM or filesystem configuration
- Character set migration experience, including conversion to AL32UTF8
- SQL and PL/SQL proficiency, execution plan analysis, and instance-level performance tuning
- Shell scripting for database automation
- Professional working English
