About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own SMS-focused telco apps, ensure uptime and reliability, troubleshoot protocols, and collaborate with MNOs and teams to deliver robust messaging.
- Monitor, test, and validate application configurations to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot telco protocols using a structured and analytical approach.
- Ensure high service uptime and track service restoration in collaboration with MNOs.
- Coordinate with MNOs and internal teams across design, deployment, integration, and configuration phases.
- Execute change requests, including planning, rollout, validation, and testing.
- Adapt technical plans and propose alternative solutions based on operational needs.
- Perform additional related tasks as required.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a telecommunications engineering role
- Strong command of English, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and within a team with minimal supervision
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong experience with A2P/P2A gateways, SMSCs, and STPs
- Proficiency in Linux SCTP and SMPP/SIP utilities and libraries
- Experience with network tracing tools such as Wireshark
- Solid understanding of telecom protocols and end-to-end message flows (SIGTRAN, MAP, SMPP, SIP)
- Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation
