About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead all tactical (PO-level) procurement activity for assigned regions/projects, converting approved category strategies and master supply agreements into timely purchase orders.
  • Own the buy-to-delivery cycle for construction materials, equipment, and site services, ensuring purchase orders align with construction schedules, budgets, and specifications.
  • Manage day-to-day supplier communication for order confirmation, order changes, expediting, and issue resolution at the project and site level.
  • Establish and enforce standardized tactical procurement processes, approval workflows, and PO governance across all regional teams.
  • Drive resolution of field procurement escalations (material shortages, quality issues, delivery delays) in partnership with construction, engineering, and logistics teams.
  • Build and maintain regional supplier relationships for trade contractors, equipment vendors, and local/regional material suppliers supporting active builds.
  • Monitor regional supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness) and drive corrective action plans where performance falls short.
  • Support project-level bid packages, quote comparisons, and award recommendations for regionally sourced scopes of work and materials.
  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing/Category Management to provide field-level market intelligence and supplier feedback that informs national category strategy and master agreements.
  • Manage regional procurement budgets and track project-level spend against approved project budgets, flagging variances early.
  • Partner closely with Construction Project Managers and Site Superintendents to align procurement activities with construction sequencing and critical-path milestones.
  • Collaborate with Warehousing, Inventory Control, and Logistics teams to ensure tactical purchase orders translate into on-time, on-site material delivery.
  • Work with Legal and Contracts teams to execute purchase orders and short-form agreements within approved contract terms and delegation-of-authority limits.
  • Provide regular reporting to the VP, Data Center Procurement on regional procurement status, risks, spend, and schedule impacts across the project portfolio.
  • Own the procurement input into recurring project governance forums for each assigned project — including weekly management reviews, EPC/owner-contractor meetings, and project status presentations — covering material and equipment delivery status, long-lead item tracking, open escalations, and cost/schedule impacts.
  • Consolidate project-level inputs from Regional Project Procurement Managers, site buyers, and expediters into a single accurate procurement submission for each forum, delivered on the required cadence and in the required format.
  • Represent procurement in weekly management, EPC, and project review calls, presenting status and responding to questions on delivery risk, supplier performance, and mitigation plans.
  • Build, lead, and develop a team of regional procurement managers, tactical buyers, and expediters aligned to active and planned construction regions.
  • Establish staffing plans that scale the tactical procurement organization in line with the pace and geographic spread of the data center build pipeline.
  • Define KPIs and performance standards for the tactical procurement team (PO cycle time, on-time issuance, cost savings/avoidance, supplier performance).
  • Champion consistent tools, systems (P2P/ERP), and processes across regions to enable scalability and reduce variability in procurement execution.
  • Establish and maintain standardized procurement reporting templates, dashboards, and data sources so project updates are consistent across projects and regions and traceable back to PO, delivery, and spend data.
