About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the technical strategy and execution of natural gas power generation projects integrated with battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- Build and scale a multidisciplinary engineering organization
- Establish systems and standards for consistent project delivery
- Provide technical leadership across development, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations
- Develop engineering governance frameworks and scalable workflows
- Recruit, onboard, mentor, and retain engineering talent
- Oversee engineering execution across multiple concurrent projects
- Ensure compliance with engineering codes and industry standards
- Support commissioning and startup activities with technical guidance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
- 15+ years of progressive engineering experience within the power generation industry
- Significant experience supporting reciprocating engine and/or gas turbine power plant projects
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, civil/structural, and instrumentation and controls disciplines
- Experience managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously through development, design, construction, and commissioning phases
- Strong familiarity with major OEM platforms such as Caterpillar, Wärtsilä, GE, and Jenbacher/INNIO
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards, including NFPA, IEEE, ASME, API, and related regulatory requirements
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or equivalent professional accreditation preferred
