About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform clinical and administrative functions in support of a busy podiatry practice
- Assist physicians with patient care and minor in-office procedures
- Take detailed chief complaints, past medical histories, and social histories
- Scribe the objective and plan portions of encounter notes at the doctor’s direction
- Take X-rays
- Educate patients about conditions and treatments
- Maintain inventory, supplies, equipment, and instrument sterilization
- Clean and sterilize rooms thoroughly and promptly
- Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously
- Support and cover for other staff members as requested
- Provide information to patients so they can fully utilize clinical services
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 1+ year of medical office experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to use appropriate medical terminology when communicating with doctors and patients
- Exceptional organizational, time-management, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team
- Understanding of and commitment to patient-record confidentiality
- Cheerful and empathetic demeanor
- Commitment to providing an excellent patient experience
