About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Draft, review, negotiate and oversee national and international contracts of various kinds, ensuring legal certainty and alignment with the organization's strategic objectives
Act as legal partner to internal teams, participating in meetings with internal clients, suppliers, partners, research institutions and other stakeholders
Provide legal advisory support on contractual, corporate, regulatory and compliance matters
Draft legal opinions, reports, executive presentations and other legal documents related to the department's activities
Identify, analyze and mitigate legal risks related to contracts, projects, operations and the institution's strategic initiatives
Advise internal teams on the application of current legislation, corporate policies and applicable regulatory requirements
Monitor and coordinate external law firms handling contentious and advisory matters, especially employment/labor law
Support matters related to intellectual property, technology transfer, licensing, confidentiality and personal data protection
Contribute to strengthening corporate governance, compliance and risk management practices
Participate in the continuous improvement of legal processes

Requirements

What you’ll need

Law degree (required)
Relevant legal experience with a strong focus on contracts
Experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing contracts
Experience leading meetings and negotiations with internal clients, suppliers, partners and service providers
Experience preparing legal opinions, management reports and executive presentations
Experience managing external law firms for employment/labor advisory and contentious matters
Postgraduate degree in Contracts, Corporate Law, Digital Law, Compliance or related areas — desirable, not mandatory
Preferred: experience in Institutions of Science, Technology and Innovation (ICTs), research centers or technology companies
Preferred: experience with R&D contracts, technology cooperation, convênios (institutional agreements), strategic partnerships and incentive-backed projects
