About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as a technical innovator bridging the gap between on-premises infrastructure and cloud scalability
Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable cloud architectures including AWS GovCloud and Azure
Manage the full system lifecycle, conduct daily monitoring and backups, perform cyber security mitigations
Ensure architectures align with DoD policies and service level agreements
Design and implement container platforms such as VKS (Kubernetes), Docker, and Podman
Work with system engineers to identify and define requirements for new systems/system modifications
Conduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoral, and application upgrades
Ensure system software installations, maintenance, and cyber security mitigations are performed as required
Leverage strong communication and collaboration skills for integration across teams
Develop and implement automation to expand the platform's self-service consumption model

Requirements

What you’ll need

14+ years of general work experience
7+ years of IT experience with 3 years in cloud engineering roles
1+ years of experience in management or leadership role
Experience with enterprise hardware stack (HPE Synergy, HPE Nimble, NetApp ONTAP, etc.)
Experience with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, HELM, Bash, etc.)
Experience with continuous delivery tools (VCFA Blueprints, GitLab, ArgoCD, etc.)
Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerization
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform
Experience designing hybrid and multi-cloud solutions
Understanding of networking, storage, identity, and DevSecOps pipelines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must meet DoD 8570 certification requirements (e.g. Sec+) within 60 days of hire
Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
