About the role
- Monitors and reviews database performance parameters
- Generates performance reports
- Works on multiple concurrent projects, proposing database solutions
- Performs and reviews performance optimizations and execution plans
- Recommends improvements to environment management and performance in mission-critical, high-availability systems
- Analyzes database performance indicators
- Optimizes performance of relational and non-relational databases
- Troubleshoots relational and non-relational databases
- Performs query performance optimization
Requirements
- Experience analyzing wait events
- Experience analyzing query execution plans
- Experience analyzing performance using AWS Database Performance Insights
- Experience analyzing performance of relational databases
- Experience with database instrumentation on AWS
- Experience with PostgreSQL (performance analysis, development of database objects and queries)
- Experience analyzing operating system performance metrics
- Experience with monitoring using AWS CloudWatch
- Experience with SQL and PL/SQL
- Knowledge of shell scripting and development of infrastructure scripts
- Knowledge of backup strategies
- Knowledge of Oracle Database
