About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead delivery of legal services through ICLS's pro bono program
  • Oversee and direct pro bono projects, recruiting and training volunteers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • J.D. degree and licensed to practice law in California at hire
  • Passion for expanding access to justice and serving low-income communities
  • Experience practicing law and supervising attorneys
  • Commitment to inclusive practices and cultural humility
  • Experience developing strategic partnerships
  • Ability to manage complex projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong strategic thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective ambassador for ICLS with stakeholders
  • Strong writing, verbal communication, and public speaking skills
  • Ability to recruit, train, mentor, and supervise staff and volunteers
  • Experience with grants and working with funders preferred
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel occasionally
