About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain the Design Strategy for the New Reservoirs Programme across DCO, Reference, ECI, Early Works and Enabling Works
- Ensure design liability ownership, risk ownership, CDM responsibility clarity, and effective hand-off between supply partners
- Design and maintain the Technical Assurance Strategy across the supply chain
- Oversee work-package integration, assurance plans, and technical scopes for procurement
- Manage the Technical Assurance Manager responsible for day-to-day system and process management
- Define, develop, and maintain Client Requirements aligned with programme outcomes and efficient delivery
- Provide direction and oversight to solution development and manage requests to change or develop requirements
- Supervise a Requirements Manager
- Coordinate independent Technical Assurance activities, including technical scoping and progress monitoring
- Liaise with engineering, programme management, commercial, procurement, regulatory, and delivery teams
- Drive continuous improvement in health, safety and wellbeing and maintain a zero-accident culture
Requirements
What you’ll need- Significant design/technical experience in senior roles involving large design-and-build contractor procurements and management
- Strong project management skills
- Design leadership at detailed engineering and system levels
- Experience managing multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Right to work in the UK
- Relevant employment checks may include references, driving licence check, and DBS check
