About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain the Design Strategy for the New Reservoirs Programme across DCO, Reference, ECI, Early Works and Enabling Works
  • Ensure design liability ownership, risk ownership, CDM responsibility clarity, and effective hand-off between supply partners
  • Design and maintain the Technical Assurance Strategy across the supply chain
  • Oversee work-package integration, assurance plans, and technical scopes for procurement
  • Manage the Technical Assurance Manager responsible for day-to-day system and process management
  • Define, develop, and maintain Client Requirements aligned with programme outcomes and efficient delivery
  • Provide direction and oversight to solution development and manage requests to change or develop requirements
  • Supervise a Requirements Manager
  • Coordinate independent Technical Assurance activities, including technical scoping and progress monitoring
  • Liaise with engineering, programme management, commercial, procurement, regulatory, and delivery teams
  • Drive continuous improvement in health, safety and wellbeing and maintain a zero-accident culture

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Significant design/technical experience in senior roles involving large design-and-build contractor procurements and management
  • Strong project management skills
  • Design leadership at detailed engineering and system levels
  • Experience managing multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Relevant employment checks may include references, driving licence check, and DBS check
