About the role
- Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard company systems and data
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and legal requirements
- Design and implement appropriate security controls and measures to mitigate identified risks
- Provide cybersecurity training and awareness programs to employees to promote best practices and security awareness
- Manage and review security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and encryption technologies
- Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning to identify weaknesses and recommend remediation actions
- Monitor and analyze security events and incidents to identify potential threats or breaches
- Investigate security incidents, determine root causes, and develop effective incident response plans
- Identify and assess potential vulnerabilities and risks in the organization's IT infrastructure and applications
- Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, and make recommendations for continuous improvement
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure security is integrated into all stages of system development and lifecycle
Requirements
- +5 years’ experience in system administration
- +3 years’ experience working as an IT Cybersecurity Engineer or in a similar role
- Proven experience to manage cybersecurity projects (architecture, planning, deployment and maintenance)
- Strong experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption, SIEM, and vulnerability scanners
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in related fields (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.)
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA, EC Council) are nice to have
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies
- Proven experience in security engineering, computer and network security, authentication, security protocols and applied cryptography
- Relevant experience in: Operating systems administration - Windows and Linux
- Computer networks administration - Cisco, Checkpoint, Paloalto, Fortinet
- Good understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching
- Minimum experience in web application security - https, PKI, IIS, Apache, WAF
- Nice to have Cloud Security Knowledge: AWS, GCP, OCI
- Skills in scripting languages
- Intrusion detection and monitoring
- Security Incident Response
- Good level in vulnerability assessments, web and infrastructure testing
- Other technical skills: Microsoft: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, File Servers, GPO
- Virtualization: VMware
- Antivirus/EDR: Symantec, TrendMicro, CrowdStrike (advantage)
- Vuln scan: Qualys, Acunetix, Nessus
- SIEM: Qradar (advantage), Quest
- DB security: Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL
