About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the company's engagement with government stakeholders, policymakers, regulators, industry associations, media, and civil society.
  • Shape a favourable policy environment, mitigate regulatory risks, advance business objectives, and position the company as a trusted partner in Nepal's digital economy and mobility ecosystem.
  • Develop and execute public policy strategies and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and lead advocacy initiatives supporting innovation, fair competition, and sustainable growth.
  • Develop and implement government affairs strategies.
  • Advise management on policy risks, opportunities, and stakeholder dynamics.
  • Prepare policy briefs, position papers, consultation responses, and regulatory submissions.
  • Represent the company in government meetings, consultations, hearings, and policy discussions.
  • Develop stakeholder engagement plans and build relationships with industry associations, chambers of commerce, think tanks, academic institutions, NGOs, and other external stakeholders.
  • Identify strategic partnership opportunities and organize roundtables, policy dialogues, workshops, and industry events.
  • Design and execute advocacy campaigns and coordinate cross-functional efforts.
  • Mobilize industry and community support on key policy issues.
  • Develop evidence-based advocacy using data, economic analysis, and market insights.
  • Support policy communications, thought leadership, media engagement, public messaging, executive briefings, speeches, talking points, FAQs, and presentations.
  • Manage sensitive public affairs issues and support crisis response.
  • Conduct policy, regulatory, and political analysis; manage external research and economic studies; track industry trends and competitor activities; and report to senior leadership.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Economics, International Relations, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in government relations, public policy, public affairs, regulatory affairs, political consulting, public sector engagement, or a related field.
  • Experience engaging with government institutions and regulatory bodies.
  • Experience in technology, digital platforms, telecommunications, transportation, consulting, development organizations, or regulated industries is preferred.
  • Proven track record of influencing policy outcomes and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong understanding of political, regulatory, and policy landscapes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali.
  • Ability to develop persuasive policy arguments and advocacy strategies.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
