About the role
- You manage complex networks with Cisco components — including routing, switching and monitoring.
- You configure and monitor firewalls (Palo Alto or Fortinet), implement security policies and analyze security-related incidents.
- You work in VMware-based infrastructures (vSphere / vCenter) and ensure efficient resource utilization.
- You develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash or Python) and use tools like Ansible or Terraform to optimize operational processes.
- You perform health checks, handle incidents and changes (according to ITIL) and maintain clear documentation in the knowledge management system.
Requirements
- Several years of experience operating network and firewall infrastructures
- Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching and routing
- Experience with Cisco components and firewalls such as Palo Alto or Fortinet
- Familiarity with VMware environments (ESXi, vCenter)
- Practical experience with ITIL processes in infrastructure operations
- Automation skills (PowerShell, Bash or Python)
- Ideally: Ansible, Terraform or similar tools
- Willingness to travel throughout Germany
- Language skills: German at least C1, English at least B2
