About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and ship features across the full stack, from database to UI
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
Collaborate with product, design, and other engineers to scope and deliver work
Debug and resolve issues across systems
Drive technical decisions and help shape architecture
Work directly with the CTO on technical strategy
Scale and unify systems and infrastructure to support hundreds of independent publishers
Review code and mentor other engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of professional full stack software engineering experience
Expertise in TypeScript, one or more frontend frameworks, and at least one other language
Solid understanding of HTML and CSS
Experience with relational databases and API design
Ability and willingness to learn new languages and frameworks as needed
Understanding of application security best practices, including secure coding, CSP, authentication/authorization, XSS, XSRF, and SQL injection
Strong communication skills and comfort working in a remote, distributed team
Confidence writing unit and integration tests
Track record of shipping and owning production systems
Ability to own the full development lifecycle of a work product
Comfortable using AI coding tools responsibly
Experience in publishing, media, or subscription/membership platforms is nice to have
Experience with Python, PHP, or Ruby specifically is nice to have
DevOps experience with Heroku, Google Cloud, AWS, or Cloudflare is nice to have
