About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify, qualify, and develop personal insurance opportunities with new and existing clients in person, online, by phone, and through written communication.
- Foster and maintain relationships with clients and prospects through follow-up, quotations, and account support.
- Anticipate, respond to, and follow up on existing client needs.
- Prospect round accounts, solicit increases in existing coverage, and network for new clients, including win-backs.
- Obtain the best coverage and rate, process quotes, bind insurance coverage, and follow up on inspections, photos, and documentation.
- Present policies and educate insureds on coverages and rates.
- Support clients through renewal and retention activities.
- Monitor, review, and report key metrics to achieve sales targets.
- Complete sales activity documentation accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with team members, mentor staff, provide expertise, answer questions, and participate in meetings.
- Maintain continuing education and stay informed about industry information, products, legislation, coverages, and technology.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hold the insurance license required by your state.
- Minimum of two years of personal and commercial lines insurance account management experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree or comparable work experience.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Strong knowledge of insurance products and usages, rating procedures, underwriting procedures, coverages, and industry operations.
- Proven track record of business-to-business sales success.
- Strong presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills with ability to close sales.
- People-oriented, customer-focused, and professionally assertive in developing and servicing client relationships.
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to complete difficult assignments without supervision.
- Sound business judgment and strong decision-making skills.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to thrive in a team environment.
- Technology and computer proficiency, including agency management systems.
