About the role
- Provide one-on-one therapy to clients in various settings including our Centers, homes and/or schools.
- Follow the behavior intervention plans designed by BCBAs to address specific behavioral goals and objectives for each client.
- Accurately collect and record data on client behaviors and responses during therapy sessions, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Collaborate with the supervising BCBAs to track and report client progress towards behavioral goals and adjust intervention plans as needed.
- Utilize approved behavior reduction techniques and strategies as outlined in the behavior intervention plan to address challenging behaviors.
- Assist clients in acquiring and developing functional skills, communication abilities, and appropriate social behaviors.
- Provide training and support to parents/caregivers on implementing behavior intervention techniques and strategies in the home environment.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards in behavior analysis while maintaining client confidentiality.
- Complete required paperwork, progress reports, and session notes.
- Maintain open communication with the BCBAs, parents/caregivers, and other team members involved in the client's treatment.
Requirements
- Passion for working with children and helping others.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must meet all BACB eligibility requirements to obtain RBT certification.
- Ability to pass the required RBT certification exam within the training period.
- Must obtain and maintain required RBT certification through the BACB.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
- Physical capacity to move quickly and respond to potentially aggressive behavior and de-escalate situations with clients.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, kneeling, bending, squatting, running and/or sitting in order to interact with clients.
