About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the design and engineering teams through the development, coordination, and maintenance of accurate and high-quality Building Information Models.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure efficient model production, clash detection, and drawing output aligned with project standards and client requirements.
  • Develop and manage detailed Revit MEP models for Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health systems across various project stages.
  • Work closely with engineers and BIM Coordinators to ensure models meet project requirements, standards, and BIM Execution Plans (BEP).
  • Assist in model coordination, running clash detection processes using Navisworks and resolving design conflicts.
  • Generate MEP drawings, layouts, and schedules from models in accordance with project-specific standards and client expectations.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of models throughout the design lifecycle, from schematic design to construction documentation.
  • Support the team in updating models during design revisions, RFI responses, and client feedback rounds.
  • Participate in BIM coordination meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Help in developing and maintaining MEP content libraries, templates, and documentation standards.
  • Follow internal QA/QC processes to ensure consistent delivery quality.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1–3 years of dedicated BIM experience within an MEP consultancy or a multidisciplinary engineering firm.
  • Proven track record of delivering drawing packages through RIBA Stages 3 (Spatial Coordination), 4 (Technical Design), and 5 (Manufacturing/Construction).
  • A strong understanding of building services logic, including HVAC ductwork routing, pipework gradients, and electrical containment systems.
  • Familiarity with regional design codes and industry best practices such as CIBSE, BSRIA, or British Standards.
  • Mastery of Revit for Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health modeling, including the ability to manipulate parameters, shared coordinates, and schedules.
  • Power-user of Navisworks Manage, capable of not just finding clashes, but grouping, auditing, and reporting them effectively to the design team.
  • Hands-on experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM 360, specifically regarding model linking, version control, and cloud-based collaboration.
  • Ability to build and troubleshoot Parametric Revit Families and maintain standardized MEP component libraries.
  • A solid grasp of LOD/LOIN (Level of Information Need) requirements and the ISO 19650 framework for information management.
  • A proactive approach to "solving the clash" in 3D space rather than just reporting it.
  • The ability to explain complex technical BIM issues to non-BIM staff or clients in a concise manner.
  • Comfortable working in a high-speed federated model environment where discipline-to-discipline coordination is constant.
  • An uncompromising eye for drafting quality, line weights, and the accuracy of "As-Built" documentation.
