About the role

  • Take responsibility for digitalization and modernization programs at municipal utilities and energy providers
  • Structure complex initial situations, develop target visions and lead transformation initiatives
  • Collaborate with CEOs, department heads and IT leaders
  • Analyze and structure end-to-end processes (administration, engineering, grid operations, billing, etc.)
  • Identify media discontinuities, system gaps and efficiency potentials
  • Develop target operating models (Target Operating Model plus system/architecture sketches)
  • Design ERP / DMS / workflow modernizations
  • Prepare decision documents (make/buy, vendor selection, economic and risk assessments)
  • Facilitate workshops and management-level meetings
  • Establish transformation governance (roles, controls, decision logic)
  • Manage implementation together with IT, business units and software vendors
  • Ensure auditability, traceability and regulatory compliance
  • Contribute to analyses, strategy papers and presentations for client projects

Requirements

  • 4–10+ years of experience in consulting or transformation projects (ideally in the energy or infrastructure sector)
  • Experience in digitalization initiatives, ERP implementations or organizational modernization
  • Understanding of system landscapes (ERP, DMS, specialist systems, interfaces)
  • Ability to analyze complex situations in a structured way and prepare management-ready deliverables
  • Confident presence when engaging with executive management and department heads
  • Experience in workshop facilitation and stakeholder management
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, ownership and pragmatism
  • Nice to have: experience in regulated environments (KRITIS, energy sector, public infrastructure)
  • Knowledge of economic assessments / business cases
  • Experience with tenders or software selection processes
