About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for security scope project management and delivery as the owner representative
Managing and reviewing contractor submittals, site visits for inspections, commissioning and project closeout
Keeping the engineer informed of project status and aware of potential problems or liability issues
Observing work through meetings and site visits to determine if progress and quality of workmanship are in accordance with the contract documents
Reviewing project, scope of work, and budget for contracted services
Meeting with the Operations Manager, Project Managers and design engineers to review expectations and role to be fulfilled by Construction Administrator on project assigned
Coordinating with the construction team for project scheduling and assist with preparing security specific scheduling requirements
Reviewing contract documents with contractors, clarifying and interpreting contract documents and obtaining information from design engineers as required
Issuing reports regarding deficiencies in the project
Collecting data and reviewing change orders with the design engineer and preparing project close out documents when needed
Confer with Architect and construction team concerning areas of construction coordination issues between architectural and engineering design
Coordinating with design engineer, recording and documenting events and circumstances
Reviewing applications for payment submitted by the Contractor and forwarding to Project Manager with recommendation for disposition
Preparing project closeout documents
Performing final observation of the work, testing, and full commissioning including preparation of written commissioning report
Attending construction progress meetings as required in the service contract and reporting proceedings
Preparing an order form for the owner-provided IT equipment and IP address assignments for the new security devices required as part of the project
Preparing programming scripts, access code request form, and other required documentation for expansion of existing Owner-managed security equipment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree (Science) or Associate Degree preferred in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent
6 years of experience minimum required, 10 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
Must be familiar with design processes and interpretation of architectural and engineering design documents
Must be familiar with security system design and construction for Data Centers
Knowledge of data center design and construction techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans and drawings
Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and structures
Strong interpersonal skills
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Ability to travel 20-50% with occasional overnight stays
