About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead design efforts for the analysis of municipal infrastructure
  • Perform site assessments and prepare detailed analyses and technical reports
  • Develop designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with applicable codes and IMEG standards
  • Partner with clients to understand project needs, gather requirements, communicate technical information, and build strong relationships
  • Review civil infrastructure designs, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence during production
  • Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs meet IMEG standards, industry standards, and client requirements
  • Provide technical training, mentoring, and support in resolving field issues with minimal senior staff involvement
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and civil engineering best practices while contributing to innovation efforts
  • Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance, including interpretation and application of state and local design criteria
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions
  • Participate in project interviews and presentations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent, required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required
  • 10 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
  • Mastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency in the Civil Engineering field
  • Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
