About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead design efforts for the analysis of municipal infrastructure
- Perform site assessments and prepare detailed analyses and technical reports
- Develop designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with applicable codes and IMEG standards
- Partner with clients to understand project needs, gather requirements, communicate technical information, and build strong relationships
- Review civil infrastructure designs, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence during production
- Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs meet IMEG standards, industry standards, and client requirements
- Provide technical training, mentoring, and support in resolving field issues with minimal senior staff involvement
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and civil engineering best practices while contributing to innovation efforts
- Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance, including interpretation and application of state and local design criteria
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions
- Participate in project interviews and presentations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent, required
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required
- 10 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
- Mastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
- Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency in the Civil Engineering field
- Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills
- Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
- Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
