About the role
- responsible for performing as Project Manager (PM) on some projects
- provide mentorship on detailed engineering analysis in the preparation of engineering reports, permit applications and construction plan preparation
- participate in Learning & Development opportunities focused on personal and career growth
- direct and train Civil Design Technicians and/or Civil Designers
- independently evaluate, plan, and conduct work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria
- possess an understanding of materials and methods
- direct technical staff with Field Inspections and/or in efforts to certify improvements meet the plans as approved
- complete permit applications for a variety of agencies
- collaborate as a PM or in support of other PMs with the resourcing of staff and scheduling work
- coordinate planning, survey, municipal, transportation, traffic and other civil departments and disciplines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer license
- 5 years minimum but 6 years preferred experience of engineering design in an engineering firm
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision, technical plans and drawings
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs
- Expertise in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D software to enable mentorship of technical staff not necessary but is desirable for the ideal Candidate.
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
