About the role

  • Lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complexity projects
  • Collaborate with senior staff for the delivery of larger and high complexity projects
  • Work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients
  • Ensure positive outcomes for projects
  • Support the execution of consulting projects as part of a project team
  • Direct and train Civil Design Technicians
  • Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations
  • Complete and oversee permit applications for a variety of municipalities
  • Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phase
  • Interact with clients to understand their needs and communicate technical information effectively
  • Analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • 3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
  • Associates degree, or certificate, in utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent software tools or engineering preferred; 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
  • Knowledge of industry standard engineering software, primarily Civil 3D
  • Proficient with pipe networking and road corridors
  • Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Strong technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in the civil engineering field
  • Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
