About the role
- Lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complexity projects
- Collaborate with senior staff for the delivery of larger and high complexity projects
- Work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients
- Ensure positive outcomes for projects
- Support the execution of consulting projects as part of a project team
- Direct and train Civil Design Technicians
- Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations
- Complete and oversee permit applications for a variety of municipalities
- Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phase
- Interact with clients to understand their needs and communicate technical information effectively
- Analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred
- 3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
- Associates degree, or certificate, in utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent software tools or engineering preferred; 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
- Knowledge of industry standard engineering software, primarily Civil 3D
- Proficient with pipe networking and road corridors
- Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
- Strong technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in the civil engineering field
- Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
