About the role

  • The Associate Director leads the execution of due diligence engagements and is responsible for delivering high-quality work to clients.
  • This role combines technical expertise, project management, and people leadership.
  • Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values
  • Serve as the day-to-day lead on due diligence engagements, managing timelines, workstreams, and client communications.
  • Supervise and review analyses related to working capital trends, revenue quality, expense normalization, and balance sheet integrity.
  • Perform root cause analysis of fluctuations and anomalies in financial performance.
  • Translate raw client data into clear, defensible ineligibles and reserves for BBC presentation, adjustments to EBITDA, net working capital, and net debt.
  • Provide detailed insight into the implications of accounting policies, customer concentrations, deferred revenue, and other risk areas.
  • Assess internal controls around financial and collateral reporting for clients.
  • Prepare and present deliverables that highlight key findings, risks, and deal considerations.
  • Liaise directly with borrowers, target companies, and external advisors to gather data and resolve open items.
  • Ensure engagement quality and compliance with internal standards across multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Actively participate in client relationship building and contribute to business development efforts.
  • Provide quality updates internally and externally on a frequent basis.
  • Identify and contribute ways to add value to the organization outside of traditional diligence work.
  • Conduct formal report and workpaper reviews

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of transaction services or field exam experience, ideally with exposure to both ABL and M&A environments.
  • CPA or equivalent designation required.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple complex engagements.
  • Strong presentation and relationship management skills.
