About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Visualize human and creature characters in full photoreal style: anatomy, likeness, costume, gear, aging, damage, and material response to light
- Produce turnarounds, expression sheets, lighting keys, and material swatches that are technically bulletproof for modelers and texture artists
- Partner with the Art Director to establish silhouette language, color palettes, and cultural authenticity for multiple factions
- Iterate rapidly in 2D to validate forms under real-world lighting
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years in games, film, or VFX creating photoreal character concept art that has shipped
- Portfolio demonstrating accurate facial likeness and emotional range
- Deep knowledge of human & animal anatomy, proportion, and aging
- Mastery of skin subsurface, fabric weave, metal reflectance, and weathering
- Ability to match real-world camera lenses and lighting scenarios
- Fluency in Photoshop
- Excellent visual communication skills
- Self-driven, critique-hungry, and able to thrive in a fully remote, timezone-distributed team
