About the role
- Provide coding and abstracting services for clients on facility same day surgery / observation and interventional radiology CPT records
- Review medical records to identify pertinent diagnoses and procedures
- Ensure appropriate DRG assignment
- Maintain current knowledge of the information contained in the Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant, and the Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years or more of related medical coding experience
- Facility same day surgery / observation and interventional radiology coding
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPS, and CPT coding principles
- CCS, CPC or COC certification
