About the role
- Provide coding and abstracting services for clients on outpatient, physician or emergency room medical records
- Review medical records to identify pertinent diagnoses and procedures
- Ensure appropriate DRG assignment
- Participate in team meetings and training required by company staff or the client
- Maintain coding credentials up to date and active
Requirements
- CPC certification
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Profee Surgery coding experience
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPS and CPT coding principles and guidelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology and disease processes
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
