About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Deliver high-quality, engaging, and interactive online instruction in alignment with standards, curriculum, and student learning needs.
Be available to teach live during regular school hours.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students in 1-on-1, small-group, and whole-class settings.
Build strong relationships with students and families, fostering a supportive and collaborative learning environment.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback, grades, and academic support.
Utilize technology effectively, including Canvas, Zoom, and other digital resources.
Implement innovative teaching strategies to make learning engaging and accessible for all students.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and academic goals.
Collaborate with fellow teachers and school staff to enhance curriculum delivery and student success.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, participation, and performance.
Participate in professional development opportunities and ongoing training sessions.
Host/Co-Host a club (virtually) and occasionally attend (in-person) field trips when they are geographically near to your location.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must physically live in the United States
Bachelor’s degree
Valid teacher certification/endorsement in special education (or teacher certification with special education teaching experience) (issued by any U.S. state)
Ability to quickly learn and effectively use online learning platforms and digital tools.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with students and families.
Passion for online education and a commitment to student success.
Ability to create engaging, student-centered lessons that foster curiosity and growth.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Must reside in the United States full-time.
Ability to pass a background check.
Availability to work traditional business hours
