About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Set up and configure automatic labeling and packaging machines, including label applicators, case sealers, cartons, and other equipment, according to product specifications, job orders, and safety guidelines.
Loads packaging materials, such as labels, containers, cartons into the machine feeders or hoppers, and adjusts machine settings, including speed and pressure, to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
Monitors production processes, including label application, filling, sealing, coding, and packing, to verify accuracy, quality, and adherence to production schedules and standards.
Conducts regular quality checks and inspections of labeled and packaged products to identify defects, misprints, or discrepancies, and makes necessary adjustments or corrections to maintain product quality and integrity.
Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions, mechanical issues, or process deviations, and performs minor repairs, adjustments, or preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and maximize machine uptime.
Maintains accurate production records, including machine settings, downtime, production output, material usage, and quality inspection results, using paper or electronic documentation systems.
Follows safety protocols and guidelines when operating labeling and packaging equipment, handling materials, and performing maintenance tasks to prevent accidents, injuries, or property damage.
Cleans labeling and packaging machines, conveyors, and work areas regularly to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Collaborates with production team members, supervisors, and quality assurance personnel to identify process improvements, optimize equipment performance, and meet production targets.
Adheres to company policies, procedures, and quality control guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and industry standards.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or equivalent education and experience required.
Minimum one to two years related outside set-up and machine operation experience required.
Reach truck forklift experience may be required.
Knowledge of automatic labeling and packaging equipment.
Familiarity with packaging materials, such as labels, containers, cartons, or bags, and the ability to load them into machine feeders or hoppers and adjust machine settings accordingly.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing equipment malfunctions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
