About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support and maintain critical interfaces between real-time operational systems and business applications.
  • Ensure high levels of system availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Provide technical expertise, support incident resolution, and collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and integrity of the CSS Interfaces suite, ensuring reliable 24/7 service.
  • Provide technical support to Operational Support Engineers and key business stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Cyber Security teams to manage interface-related changes, developments, and vulnerabilities.
  • Support Control Centre operations, including fault resolution, maintenance activities, and system enhancements.
  • Maintain business-critical systems, including system monitoring, upgrades, repairs, access control, and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures, backup plans, and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor system performance and implement proactive measures to improve reliability.
  • Liaise with internal customers and third-party support providers to resolve issues and support service delivery.
  • Contribute to reporting and data analysis activities using system data, scripts, and reporting tools.
  • Support user training and knowledge sharing across the business.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience supporting real-time operational systems and system interfaces.
  • Knowledge of interface technologies, system integration, and cyber security considerations.
  • Understanding of control room operations and electricity network environments.
  • Experience working with suppliers, contractors, and external service providers.
  • Knowledge of network management systems and operational business processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and deliver accurate, timely outcomes.
  • Commitment to safe working practices and continuous improvement.
  • HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong IT systems knowledge.
  • Good understanding of system interfaces and integrations.
  • Proven experience in a relevant technical or operational support environment.
