About the role
- Manage & Lead your Region of the Engineering Project Managers team
- Overall accountability for the performance, governance, and quality of all engineering deliverables across their regional portfolio
- Provide leadership and direction to the regional team of Engineering Project Managers
- Establish and maintain regional engineering governance processes
- Ensure compliance with all Engineering policies, standards and procedures
- Support bid development, tender reviews, and engineering scope definition for new opportunities
- Act as senior engineering representative for regional clients and stakeholders
- Identify, delineate and resolve Engineering problems using Engineering methodology where appropriate.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering with relevant experience
- Chartered Engineer Status (or working towards)
- Experience with designing in either civil, main plant, protection and control, OHL OR cables engineering, for large electrical infrastructure projects
- Ability to implement, apply and promote CDM and Health & Safety best practice in a design environment
- Experience in the implementation of new technologies and engineering solutions to achieve reductions in project lifetime costs
- Proven experience and knowledge of CDM regulations and Designer risk assessment
- Experience in the use of BIM for designing Transmission substations.
- An understanding in terms of the Protection equipment deployed for transmission networks and how it is operated / maintained.
