Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong working knowledge and experience developing Java-based software capabilities
  • Inquisitive nature, responsiveness, and excellent testing skills
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines
  • Experience integrating advanced AI agents, specifically Claude Code or Google's Antigravity / Gemini agentic workflows, into daily software engineering routines
  • Experience using autonomous agents for multi-file feature implementations, complex codebase refactoring, and automated unit/integration test generation
  • Ability to guide AI agents through complex, multi-repository application architectures
  • Ability to manage context efficiently and critically audit agent-generated code for security, performance, and architectural alignment
  • Ability to transition between hands-on execution and team guidance, including mentorship and team leadership
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance; clearance is not required on day one
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with modern Java frameworks and libraries, such as Spring and Guava, and a bachelor's degree in a related field; OR 3 years of relevant experience with a master's degree in a related field; OR a high school diploma or equivalent and 9 years of relevant experience
  • Experience designing enterprise APIs
  • Experience with RESTful web services
  • Experience with microservices architecture
  • Experience with object-oriented programming paradigms
  • Experience with the agile software lifecycle
  • Experience serving as a tech lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently and in a team setting
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Git, Nexus, and Maven
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, averaging 1–2 days per week at the Augusta, GA office
  • Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes
  • Preferred: Active Secret or Top Secret clearance
  • Preferred: Experience with AWS or Azure
  • Preferred: Experience with distributed databases, NoSQL databases, and full-text search engines such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, or Solr
  • Preferred: Scripting experience
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Big Data Platforms or Data Lake architectures
  • Preferred: Understanding of Agile methodologies and standard development tool suites such as JIRA, Confluence, and GitHub Enterprise
