About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deploy the privacy protection program across the organization by supporting business units in managing confidentiality incidents and access and deletion requests
- Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and advise business sectors to integrate privacy protection from the outset of initiatives
- Advise management on privacy-related risks and obligations to support informed decision-making
- Ensure oversight of the program through targeted mandates and monitoring corrective actions
- Prepare reports for governance bodies by gathering and consolidating information from multiple stakeholders
- Participate in corporate initiatives related to governance, risk management, and compliance
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, analyze impacts, and recommend program adjustments
- Design and deliver awareness activities to strengthen the privacy protection culture
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent communication skills in both French and English, spoken and written
- Knowledge of financial institution business needs, particularly insurance, savings, and wealth management (an asset)
- Strong proficiency with computer tools, including Microsoft Office
- Experience deploying and monitoring an organization-wide privacy protection program (an asset)
- Five years of relevant experience, including three years in personal information protection
- Bachelor’s degree in Law
- Membership in the Barreau or the Chambre des notaires
- Advanced English and French proficiency for daily communication with English- and French-speaking clients and partners across Canada via email and calls
