About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Translating requirements into solutions and ensuring deliveries comply with the approved design across all dimensions (architecture lead), including: System — functional and non-functional requirements, development, component selection and reuse, and integration;
  • Technology — technical and non-functional requirements, use of new design approaches (e.g., cloud, mobility), security, performance, and availability;
  • Organizational — processes, change management, requirements (functional specifications), and legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Providing leadership in solution review governance and proposing, reviewing, and approving architecture decisions in accordance with corporate frameworks.
  • Ensuring solution alignment and integration within impacted ecosystems to minimize potential issues and, when likely or unavoidable, proposing pragmatic workaround solutions.
  • Ensuring the integrity and quality of the solution from design to delivery (end-to-end), including oversight during execution and validation of requirements against test results.
  • Ensuring consistency of technological solutions with strategic objectives and contributing to process optimization by proposing evolution and simplification scenarios.
  • Providing multidisciplinary leadership within the solution delivery team (designers, analysts, developers, etc.) and with surrounding collaborators, including external vendors.
  • Contributing to project success by facilitating schedule, scope, and budget management.
  • Maintaining traceability of architecture decisions, certifying technical project documentation, and ensuring updates to permanent documentation impacted by the work.
  • Acting as a guardian of the methodological approach and architecture process in place within the organization.
  • With the support of and in collaboration with the Enterprise Architecture team, helping preserve corporate alignment by contributing to the evolution of and ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture guidelines, processes, standardized tools, standards, and architectural methods.
  • When required, submitting exemption requests for exceptional cases.
  • Acting as the application owner within the enterprise repository to ensure it is kept up to date and to guarantee the accuracy of information related to assigned applications and technologies, in collaboration with the application portfolio owner.
  • Continuously monitoring architecture trends that comply with company standards and guidelines.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, information systems, computer or software engineering, mathematics, or another relevant field of equivalent level.
  • Has 12 years of experience in information technology, including a minimum of 5 years in architecture within large-scale projects and organizations.
  • Demonstrates proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams composed of internal and external resources.
  • Shows a strong ability to manage multiple dimensions of complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Is recognized for excellent communication and simplification skills.
  • Stands out for strong negotiation skills and advanced conflict resolution abilities.
  • Demonstrates a high tolerance for ambiguity, uncertainty, and frequent change.
  • Has solid knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent.
  • Has significant experience designing high-volume, high-availability applications and systems.
  • Has participated in large-scale digital transformation initiatives and projects.
  • Has experience working with SDLC, DevOps, Agile methodologies, MVP, LEAN, and ITIL.
  • Has knowledge of the financial services and insurance sector, considered an asset.
  • Is highly proficient in French, both spoken and written.
  • Has an intermediate level of English, as the role involves facilitating presentations and meetings, as well as producing documentation and emails with internal and external partners on a weekly basis.
