About the role
- Provide strategic legal advice related to portfolio management and investment funds
- Draft and negotiate various agreements, including investment management agreements
- Support product distribution by reviewing marketing materials
- Offer guidance on Canadian securities and investment laws
- Identify and manage legal risks with new investment strategies
- Stay informed on regulatory trends and developments in the investment sector
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in securities law
- Membership in the Quebec Bar or license to practice law in Canada
- Deep expertise in Canadian securities law, especially in investment funds and asset management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a dynamic environment
- Strong ability to simplify complex concepts for business partners
- Excellent interpersonal skills and collaboration abilities
- Advanced proficiency in French (spoken and written)
- Advanced proficiency in English
