About the role

  • Take engineering ownership for tires and wheels across European vehicle programs from concept through SOP and beyond
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to ensure design compatibility and clearly define targets
  • Prepare concept designs and drive system and component development to meet agreed targets
  • Prepare EO/ECR documentation and release drawings in close cooperation with suppliers
  • Coordinate with manufacturing plants, Quality and Purchasing to ensure production readiness and compliance with quality requirements
  • Scout and develop new technologies in collaboration with suppliers and via industry conferences
  • Propose improvements to existing components and expand and enhance development standards
  • Work closely with the R&D Center in Namyang (South Korea)

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the automotive industry, ideally with an OEM or Tier 1 supplier
  • Excellent understanding of tire and wheel technologies and associated OEM R&D processes
  • Knowledge of tire testing methods, including NVH, durability and performance evaluations
  • Hands-on experience collaborating with tire suppliers and managing projects
  • Ability to define and analyze tire performance targets, specifications and validation plans
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot tire performance issues
  • Excellent communication skills; able to prepare technical reports, proposals and presentations in English
  • Preferred: experience with advanced tire technologies (e.g. low-rolling resistance, smart tires)
  • Willingness to travel (including medium/long-term assignments to Korea); valid EU driving license (Category B)
  • Software: CATIA V5 / PLM / BOM
