About the role

  • You will be responsible for Serial development responsible engineer for body mechanism parts for our future vehicles
  • Engineering responsibility for Body mechanism parts (such as FR and RR wipers, exterior mirrors, FR & RR glass systems etc.) development from 1st concept, through Start of Production (SOP) and life cycles, targeting optimizations in cost, weight, performance, design, materials, customer usage, assembly and part quality
  • Join production plant trails (Korea & EU) to check tool & part developments to solve quality and assembly issues
  • Study EU market, including competitors, making body recommendations considering cost, weight and performance
  • Report European body innovations through your solid network of industry experts, suppliers, conferences, start-ups & institute visits and judge these solutions on cost, weight, performance towards Hyundai management
  • Continuously report the progress of your part developments to EU/Korean management as well as the production plants

Requirements

  • Solid experience as body part engineer at an automotive OEM (preferred) or key Tier 1 supplier from 1st design reviews until Start of Production, continuously weighing technical parameters, working with CATIA & informing management
  • Education: Automotive or Mechanical Engineering degree with minimum of 3 years of professional body development experience at an automotive OEM or key supplier, deep know-how about automotive requirements and R&D processes
  • Experience in serial part developments including design reviews, decision meetings, quality reviews and status reporting
  • Excellent market knowledge of body technologies related to materials, processes, supply chains and OEM requirements
  • Strong pro-active attitude and innovative mind with a strategic, organized, but very flexible working style
  • Analytical thinker with clear, output driven communication and strong deadline driven performance
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office, CATIA V5 and drawing release/BOM software, but in engineering role, not CAD modeler
  • Willing to travel frequently, good level of English in speech and writing, in possession of valid European driver license B
