About the role
- Test and development of ride & handling performance attributes to meet development targets
- Subjective evaluation and benchmarking of ride comfort, handling (inc. limit) and steering characteristics
- Verification and tuning of chassis systems inc. K&C characteristics, shock absorber and other suspension components.
- Performance target definition for full vehicle, system and components level of new vehicle projects
- Identification of latest market and technology trends / Scouting and implementation of latest development tools
- Project planning and execution to ensure optimal usage of budget and resources to meet expected timeframe
- Documenting and reporting of project & development results
- Close communication and collaboration with HMETC internal departments and R&D Center in Namyang (South Korea)
Requirements
- Degree in mechanical / automotive engineering with clear knowledge and passion for vehicle dynamics
- Min. 3 years of related experience in suspension development and tuning for an automotive OEM or tier 1 supplier
- Proven subjective evaluation skills in ride and handling areas (e.g. damper systems, steering, ESC and chassis components)
- Clear understanding of fundamental suspension design / K&C principals and its impact on subjective R&H performance
- Knowledge and experience of working in a Premium European OEM using state-of-the-art technologies would be desired
- A full valid B driving license with a proven ability for dynamic vehicle control up to and over the limit
- Willingness for frequent travel to various test locations and proving grounds across Europe and globally
- Excellent analytical skills with a hands-on proactive approach and problem-solving mentality
- A very good command of English, intercultural & communication skills
- Proficient in presenting, reporting and handling Microsoft applications like PowerPoint and Excel.
