About the role

  • You are responsible for the architecture and technical target visions of our serverless applications on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3)
  • You build and develop a scalable, secure backend architecture for our assistant products
  • You work hands-on on production backend services in Node.js / TypeScript (approx. 50–60%)
  • In the spirit of “You build it, you run it” you provision and operate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
  • You enjoy being 50–60% hands-on with the product
  • You develop our application full-stack (Node.js, TypeScript, React)
  • You create the technical foundation for AI-supported product features
  • You ensure quality, scalability, performance and security across the entire lifecycle
  • You work closely within the Product Trio (Product, Tech, Design)
  • You empower the team technically, lead developers on a technical level and provide clear direction
  • You use AI tools in engineering thoughtfully and productively (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT Codex)

Requirements

  • Several years of experience as an Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, or Lead Architect
  • You are an expert in Node.js, TypeScript and React (experience with React Router, Redux and Material-UI is a plus)
  • Solid, practical experience with AWS technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3)
  • Experience with event-driven architectures (e.g., SQS, RabbitMQ)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally with AWS CDK
  • Strong architecture and system design understanding for scalable systems
  • Experience coaching and mentoring developers
  • Strong product thinking and a high sense of responsibility
  • Experience with security and compliance requirements in production environments
  • Experience designing and operating APIs, ideally also for agent- or LLM-based systems (e.g., MCP)
  • Very good German (at least C1) and professional English skills.
