About the role

  • Contribute to new product development as well as improvements to existing designs, including reliability improvements and cost reduction efforts.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues found in production and in the field.
  • Perform electrical design work including schematic capture, PCB layout, and BOM management.
  • Travel to manufacturing partners in Asia as needed.
  • Support EMC and safety certification efforts for US and EU regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience developing electronics in the consumer or medical device spaces.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teams and maintain clear documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment, take ownership of technical problems, and contribute wherever needed to move work forward.
  • Experience with electronics assembly, rework, and repair.
  • Experience bringing up and debugging electrical designs using typical laboratory equipment.
  • Experience integrating electronics into complex mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience designing PCBs using schematic capture and layout EDA tools such as KiCad or Altium.
  • Familiarity with certification testing procedures.
