About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain software applications for Honeywell Aerospace
- Contribute to software design, coding, testing, and debugging
- Design, develop, and integrate complex software functions within the Software Verification & Validation Center of Excellence
- Perform requirement analysis
- Develop test strategies and designs
- Develop, execute, and debug tests
- Conduct requirement and test reviews
- Perform formal testing, including RFS and SC
- Support certification activities
- Support Test Experts in deploying new tools, test methodologies, and other initiatives
- Provide verification deliverables according to DO-178 and Software V&V CoE processes to the Program Lead
- Identify opportunities to deploy organizational improvement strategies
- Collaborate with talented engineers and contribute to team goals
- Report directly to the Software Engineering Manager
- Travel up to 25% to the US and/or internationally may be required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- 2+ years of experience in Software/Requirement testing
- 2+ years of embedded real-time software development experience
- 2+ years of development experience in C/C++ and Python
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Understanding of software requirements of varying complexity
- Hardware and software debugging with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
- Hands-on experience with multicore processors and understanding of processor architecture
- Experience in avionics software, systems, or software verification
- Experience developing applications or drivers for protocols such as ARINC 429, RS232, RS422, and MIL-STD-1553
- Working knowledge of DO-178B/C certification
- Technical knowledge of software development and verification processes, certification, and DO-178 design assurance guidelines
- Understanding of software verification methods, tools, industry standards, and direction
- Understanding of software development lifecycles
- Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices
- Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or person with protected asylum/refugee status in the U.S.
