About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and refine ECS performance models and simulations for air and vapor cycle systems
- Validate and verify system-level steady-state requirements
- Conduct thermodynamic, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics analyses to optimize system performance
- Define system- and equipment-level key performance metrics and generate/validate associated requirements
- Create and maintain system-level steady-state models
- Optimize runtime performance and validate models against component and system test data
- Generate model documentation
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate hardware and software components
- Perform system validation, verification, and testing to ensure compliance with specifications
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Engineering Physics, or Aerospace Engineering or related engineering fields
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- 0 - 2 years of experience in mechanical, chemical, or related engineering fields
- Advanced degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related technical field with emphasis on thermal management system modeling and analysis, in lieu of experience
- Experience in thermal management system design and development
- Experience in systems modeling tools and software such as NPSS, SysML, MATLAB, or similar platforms for system analysis and design
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities
- Candidates must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, protected status under asylum/refugee, or able to obtain export approval due to U.S. export control laws
