About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and refine ECS performance models and simulations for air and vapor cycle systems, including validation and verification of system-level steady-state requirements
  • Conduct thermodynamic, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics analyses to optimize system performance
  • Define system- and equipment-level key performance measures and generate and validate associated requirements
  • Create and maintain system-level steady-state models, including runtime performance optimization
  • Validate models against component and system test data
  • Generate model documentation
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate hardware and software components effectively
  • Perform system validation, verification, and testing to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Design, develop, and integrate complex systems to meet customer and business requirements
  • Report directly to the Systems Engineering Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Engineering Physics, or Aerospace Engineering or related engineering fields
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical, chemical, or related engineering fields, with emphasis on thermal management system modeling and analysis
  • Advanced degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related technical field with emphasis on thermal management system modeling and analysis, in lieu of experience
  • Experience in thermal management system design and development
  • Experience in systems modeling tools and software such as NPSS, SysML, MATLAB, or similar platforms for system analysis and design
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities
  • Due to US export control laws, candidates must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, protected status under asylum/refugee, or able to obtain export approval
