About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare and submit provider enrollment and credentialing applications to Florida Medicaid and Managed Care Organizations
  • Monitor and track application statuses through final approval
  • Organize and maintain credentialing files, payer contracts, and official documentation
  • Coordinate re-credentialing processes before expiration deadlines
  • Oversee daily electronic claims submissions and verify accuracy
  • Research, correct, and resubmit rejected claims and draft appeals
  • Monitor unpaid claims and communicate with insurance representatives
  • Post payments and process claim corrections in the billing system
  • Track accounts receivable to reduce outstanding balances and improve collection rates
  • Prepare monthly billing and financial reports for management
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and follow payer and state guidelines
  • Assist management and external auditors during administrative or financial reviews
  • Complete onboarding, learn HomeWell workflows, and audit current Medicaid/payer enrollments
  • Clear pending credentialing applications and independently manage the billing cycle
  • Own billing and credentialing processes while reducing claim denials

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 3 years of medical billing experience
  • Minimum 2 years of provider credentialing experience
  • Deep familiarity with Florida Medicaid regulations and Managed Care Organizations
  • Hands-on experience with electronic claims submission platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to manage workloads independently
  • Prior home care or home health experience preferred
  • Experience using WellSky, Availity, and the FL MMIS portal preferred
  • Familiarity with Medicare billing protocols preferred
  • Ability to submit credentialing applications within 5 business days of receipt
  • Ability to transmit electronic claims within 48 hours of service completion
  • Ability to maintain a claim acceptance rate of at least 95% and denial rate below 5%
  • Ability to keep accounts receivable under 45 days
  • Ability to deliver monthly financial reporting by the fifth business day of each month
  • Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and follow regulatory payer and state guidelines
