About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Direct the workflow of the project on site in accordance with the project schedule and HITT safety and quality standards
  • Provide leadership and serve as liaison between project team members
  • Communicate project priorities to site staff and subcontractors as the primary site leader
  • Administer the HITT safety program for subcontractors
  • Ensure accidents and incidents are promptly reported and investigated
  • Assist with safety inspections by outside agencies
  • Maintain HITT quality standards across the project
  • Lead all on-site safety and manage a safe jobsite
  • Maintain daily logs of activities and site conditions
  • Manage the punch list and closeout process through owner/architect acceptance
  • Work with the project manager to formulate the project schedule
  • Ensure proper methods and installation sequencing are followed
  • Make and follow through with schedule commitments
  • Maintain relationships with subcontractors and develop community relationships
  • Ensure accurate daily documentation of work orders and tickets
  • Understand subcontractor scopes to avoid unnecessary change orders
  • Identify problems early and provide immediate solutions
  • Develop and organize the site team
  • Arrange temporary site facilities and utilities
  • Identify and expedite long-lead items
  • Collaborate with the project manager and site operations team throughout the project

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred
  • In lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable
  • 8-10 years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor
  • Tenant renovations, service work, work in occupied spaces, weekend work, and fast-paced project experience are a plus
  • Mastery of building processes and best practices
  • Ability to organize necessary resources, including people, tools, and time, to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results
  • Project lead experience preferred
  • Previous superintendent or project lead experience preferred
  • Ability to master sector/project-specific software systems, including Microsoft Office suite, ProCore, Adobe, and BlueBeam
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally in business writing and verbally
  • Ability to gather data, interpret it into meaningful information, and communicate it clearly
  • Ability to organize and manage tasks and priorities
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity consistently with The HITT Way and HITT’s core values
